Public transport
The STIB offers the best provision in terms of public transport in Brussels. It regional network has three underground (metro) lines, 15 tram routes and 41 bus routes.
The one-day pass called “Jump Ticket” entitles the traveller to one journey including connections and is also valid on several urban bus routes run by DE LIJN and TEC. The STIB also offers a whole range of season tickets, including one specially designed for high-flying businessmen valid on the n° 12 line, known as “the Airport Line”. This new bus route links Brussels airport to the city centre in under half an hour.If you live outside the city, you might consider using the special courtesy car parks created by the STIB. You can leave your car there all day.For rail travel, Brussels has five main stations: Midi, Centrale, Nord, Schuman and Luxembourg. As we already mentioned above, the jump ticket also enables you to travel on some of the SNCB routes that cross the Brussels area. This is true of the very popular line 26 that circumvents Brussels starting from Hal right up to Vilvorde. This essential service is the precursor to the much-awaited future high-speed peripheral train service, called the RER.To discover
