Foire du Livre (Book Fair)

The Belgian Book Fair, starting its 7th year of existence, is original in this: it is devoted exclusively to Belgian authors and Belgian editors, with an aim of making it possible for the public to better identify them and discover their diversity, their talents and their qualities. In the jungle of the edition world, considering the competition of our neighbours and theabundance of titles which “come out”, they need to be supported.

This Fair, made of bookstands and of various animations will be held in the renovated buildings of the Centre Culturel d' Uccle, 47 rue Rouge, 1180 Bruxelles. The prizes winner present, like Jacqueline Harpman, Alain Berenboom, Philippe Roberts-Jones, Huguette de Broqueville will be invited there to read out some extract of their preceded work.

On scene will follow one series of authors (more tan 20) for a public interview on their recent book in connection with the selected topic. This year's topic is the “Feelings”, declined in all the manners, (love, hate, jealousy, frustration, feeling of membership, religious feeling, wellbeing, etc.).

Many of these talks relate to recent books, outgoing of press in this month of October and of November. Such those of the scenario writer fetish Jean Van Hamme, who leaves 4 Comic Strips in November, of Bruno Colmant, Charles-Ferdinand Nothomb and Christian Laporte, Daniel Storz, Corinne Hubinont, the photographer Polet and Jean Van Hamme and others still.

This fair is free open to all and all, with editorstands and of stalls of books of all natures on all kind of subjects, for all the tastes and all the ages.

A space children is envisaged with a fairy-tale narrator.
