There, you will discover a warm and unusual atmosphere, including Ethiopian items brought by Haile Abebe, owner and builder of this Ethiopian impulse in Brussels heart. By the way, what is a Toukoul ?
A Toukoul is a traditional Ethiopian hut. This is made up of wood and cob, a mix of clay and hay, is added with one's hand on it. Thanks to the dampness of the combination, there is a fresh temperature inside of it. And if it was too warm, people just will have to moisten the walls. Easy and useful!
The TOUKOUL is also a place where to discover musical talents, for 4 months, 8 artists are going to storm the place. Each artist has his own weekly time slot, and will open for another musician, showing his own musical touch.
Toukoul works in collaboration with an orphanage, located in Addis Abéba in Ethiopia, taking care of kids from 0 to 14 years. An asbl should be on place soon. The aims of this collaboration are to manage exchanges with the kids, to get them a commission of the restaurant's profit, to send them goods, ...
