Museum & Exhibitions

Installed on four floors, the mim offers a wide range of instruments of all eras and from the whole world. The extraordinary collections and the 7.000 instruments make the museum's international reputation.

First floor
So, the whole floor presents savant music. You'll discover that the violin might be prestigious today but it hasn't always been the case, it was actually despised in the beginning.

Second floor
However, the traditional and more popular music are arranged in a geographical course starting with Belgium. In this room, you'll go around the world, from China to Africa, as well as Mexico.

Third floor
The mechanical instruments have their own room. You can't miss the immense componium, maybe unique in the world.

Fourth Floor
Finally, the last floor is devoted to the keyboard and string instruments. The mim's reputation on this subject has nothing to envy other museum (the museum owns some of the world's oldest models).
