15 August celebrations in LiègeFolklore, tradition and fiesta go well together in the Outremeuse district of Liege. The 15 August festival proves it.

The old district will be on the boil from the 14 to 16 August. Its little streets will accommodate hundreds of booths and more than 100,000 people. It is the Liege Region's greatest event. On the menu: procession, blessing of the engaged, veneration of the potales (external household religious statues), concerts, puppet shows, folk dances, passer-by games...

Appointments not to be missed

But if we had to highlight the two key moments of this busy week, it would be August 14 and 15. On the 14th, after the shooting galleries and the street entertainments of every kind, the evening will present on the Delcour Place stage a music performance. Enough to get things going... The afternoon of the 15th will be devoted to the great procession in the district's streets. A colourful procession that includes tanks, giants, brotherhoods and brass bands from Belgium and abroad, in all more than 1,000 participants.
