With the Smurfs taking over New York and Tintin making his mark in Hollywood, we have a lot to be proud of. All the comic strip heroes from Brussels and Belgium will be out and about, creating a fantastic atmosphere to celebrate their great success.
Brussels will spend the weekend revelling all its comic strip glory in the Comics Park on the Mont des Arts, the Comic Strip Market at the Halles Saint-Géry, free guided tours, exhibitions all round the city, and in particular at the Belgian Comic Strip Centre and the Brussels Info Place (BIP).Absolute must-sees on Saturday include: from 9.30pm, the amazing "Comics Show" with 3D films projected onto the buildings in the Place Royale against the backdrop of a stunning firework display and in the afternoon, the Balloon's Day Parade with its cartoonesque gentle inflatable giants parading in all their splendour along the streets of the centre of Brussels.
