MeyboomMeyboom is the oldest folk tradition of Brussels. It takes place each year on August 9, the day before St. Lawrence day, patron of the brotherhood.

How to make a success of Meyboom? (Find below a recipe from a Bruxellois) Take one bunch of jolly fellows, the companions of St. Lawrence, with preferably the accent of the soil. Add a musical note with the brass band of Meyboom, 7 giants to improve the flavour of the dish. Select the carriers Choose a beech, preferably young. Select the carriers. Present the tree to the people. Transport all of it to Rue des Sables, but without dragging your feet too much, because if the tree is not planted by 5pm, the dish is missed and the curse falls down on the city.
