So you think you already know all about the Brussels museums? Well, Museum Night Fever will prove you're wrong! Museum Night Fever is back on Saturday 3 March 2012, featuring 24 Brussels museums and an offbeat programme of events comprising exhibitions, performances, concerts, video, dance, circus, ... All 24 museums stay open from 7pm until 1am, followed by 2 afterparties.
24 participating museums : a new record
This year no fewer than 24 museums will be participating to produce an offbeat programme of events comprising exhibitions, performances, concerts, DJs, video, dance, workshops and circus.Highlights
To give you something of an idea of what is being planned, you'll be able to take part in a poetic and absurd happening/flash mob at the Museum of the City of Brussels, while at the Centre for Fine Arts you'll have an opportunity to show off your musical talents on the large stage of the Henri Leboeuf Hall or enjoy a 'clockwork concert' in the Horta Hall (with music switching continents and styles every 10 minutes). The Cinquantenaire Museum will also be seeing the whole world pass by: new arrivals will be reinterpreting the major cultures exhibited using their own music, dance and voices. Meanwhile the Museum of the Armed Forces next door is staging a crazy evening featuring a formidable mix of electro and warlike tones, while the Aviation Hall will be given over to a sound and light spectacle. At the Ixelles Museum the evening will be devoted to cabaret and the Belle Epoque, and in the underground passages of the Coudenberg you will be taken back to the days of Charles the Fifth with theatrical performances and tall tales.
At the Museum of Musical Instruments you'll be spoilt by concerts by groups such as SX or Sioen. If you're in need of something a little quieter, then the Museum of Ancient Art will be attempting a silent mob! And also not to be forgotten is the acrobatic dance performance at the Museum of Natural Sciences and the graffiti evening at the Royal Library. Etc.
