BELGIAN MUSEUM OF FREEMASONRY
Historical and thematic overview of Freemasonry in Belgium.
The Belgian Museum of Freemasonry corresponds to a desire for openness from an association that wants to be discreet. Located in a neoclassical building, the Hotel Dewez, dating from the end of the 18th century, visitors have the opportunity to discover the history, symbolism and values defended by the Freemasons. The museum displays works of art, decorations, jewelry, tableware, documents and books dating from the 18th century to the present day which bear witness to the historical development, functioning, ideas and structures of Freemasonry.

Programme:
It is not surprising that ideas like fraternity, open mindedness and respect for human dignity – the core ideas of freemasonry – spoke to many classical composers. The freemason composer par excellence is of course Wolfang Amadeus Mozart, but also Johann Sebastian Bach, Josef Haydn and many others composed works which, openly or hidden, refer to the lodge.
Wishing to bring this intimate connection to light to a large audience, the museum starts up a partnership with the Belgian National Orchestra in which the research and preservation of this musical heritage goes hand in hand with a contemporary execution.
During the concerts, you will be able to move around freely and discover the Belgian Museum of Freemasonry, located in the magnificent Hôtel Dewez.
