As a country where surrealists reign, Belgium has also given birth to some pearls among the finest of French-language song. The most famous of all remaining, without doubt, "le Grand Jacques". Adulated in his homeland, Brel has furthermore been voted the greatest Belgian of all time by the Walloons.
