If somebody had predicted a musher's future for Joel in 1998, when he bought his first husky to accompany him while jogging, the latter would probably have laughed in his face. Today, with 35 years under his belt already, he's preparing to face a new challenge.After an impressive prize list in the sprint category, Joel Reyniers is turning today to middle- and long-distance races. He is as of now the first Belgian musher selected for the start of La Grande Odyssée. This exceptional race... Exceptional because of its landscapes reminiscent of the Iditarod or the Yukon Quest, its ups and downs and its technical difficulty.
After three weeks training in Norway, Joel is really up for it! He's set himself an objective and will do everything in his power to achieve it. We have no doubt that, for this U2 fan, the arrival of La Grande Odyssée really will be a Beautifull Day.
