Created in the United States in Kansas City Missouri, the bookcrossing is not the latest literary race. It is an unusual means of sharing books that is gaining in popularity in Belgium.
In practical terms, readers leave books they have enjoyed in public places so that other people can appreciate them before also passing them on... There are in fact two interesting variations of this literary practice. The first, called Bookrays and Bookrings enable readers to sign up on a list beforehand so that the book can be passed to each person in the registered group.
