Perroquet (Le)
Rue Watteeu, 31 - 1000 Bruxelles - Pho. 02/512.99.22
Fusion of snack and restaurant
Just bellow the Grand Sablon, Le Perroquet, with its gorgeous art-nouveau style, will cater or the peckish and the hungry alike.
District: Sablon
Specialities: Brussels, Sablon, Vegetarian, Salad Bar, Pitta, Snacks, Deck, Nonstop, Sundays open, After 23.00, 7d/7
Open: Everyday from midday to midnight
One thing remains certain, in here you eat with your eyes: stained glass, mouldings and other elements sculpted out of wood could be mistaken for Proust architecture. There is no doubt about it; if Horta came to the Sablon, he would definitely dine here!
The kitchen specialises in pitas and salads
Pitas are these round "naan" type bread, heated up and filled with a choice of meat, vegetables and fruit... Each one comes in a basket with a selection of four sauces to choose from, unless you fancy trying them all... Some will satisfy their taste bud's curiosity and appetite by ordering a second one, others will be drawn to the temping selection of deserts. House specials aside, Le Perroquet also has a selection of salads and other snacks on the menu.
When the sun shines, a terrace comes alive on the pavement outside, making that tasty pita twice as good... For those obsessed by their line during the summer, Le Perroquet has created a diet pita! Its always nice to have a treat without having to forget about your trikini until next summer.
A fusion of snack and restaurant flavours is what one can expect when eating at Le Perroquet: No way!
