Bruegel festivities

Bruegel festivities
It's that time of year again for fanfares to enter into the Marolles district. The giants of Rue Haute will begin their dance once again and lead you into the huge flea market, where shopkeepers and vendors will display hidden treasures from their stores: you'll find refreshments, folklore, music and plenty of bargains!

Flea market - Braderie

The giants move among the crowd at the flea market or "braderie" whose theme is "the Good Old Days", where shopkeepers and vendors will display hidden treasures from their stores!

Saturday 10th September

From 2pm onwards, the giants and the Bruegel fanfare will visit senior citizens in their residences, processing along rue Haute and rue Blaes.

Sunday 11th September

George and Dorotijke, Grand Jacques and his ten brothers and sisters, the Giants of Meyboom, and numerous fanfares will spread out towards Porte de Hal, via Place de la Chapelle which will be transformed into Brazil Street for the afternoon, complete with capoeira, maculelê and frevo!

Later in the month

Thursday 28th September will be a gallery night. On the last Thursday of each month from May to October, discover a variety of creative works on display across the area.

On Sunday 2nd October at 4.30pm, at the Vieux Marché, come along for the Blessing of Animals and look out for canaries, dogs, cats, rats and maybe even chickens or horses...
