De Brusselse choreografe Louise Vanneste rekt het begrip van choreografie zorgvuldig uit. Met veel gevoel voor de ervaring van de toeschouwer ontwikkelt ze een eigen, onalledaagse taal. Voor haar creatie atla zet Vanneste het choreografisch onderzoek voort dat ze begon met Thérians, waar literatuur doordringt in haar bewegingstaal. Haar lezing van Michel Tourniers Vrijdag, of het andere eiland is niet bedoeld om Robinsons mythe over te brengen op het podium. Veeleer biedt het een zintuiglijke ervaring van samengebrachte beelden en mentale landschappen. De confrontatie van de held met het onbewoonde eiland, de eenzaamheid, Vrijdag of de zon vormen de situaties waaruit de choreografe en haar performers een nieuw verhaal optrekken. Tussen installatie en voorstelling tekent Louise Vanneste de lijnen van een choreografische kaart. De intimiteit van de verbeelde omgeving nodigt de toeschouwer uit om deze te betreden en te (ver)dwalen op de vage grenzen tussen binnen- en buitenwereld, reële en verbeelde geografie.

Built in the mid-nineteenth century, the old Gräffe sugar refinery, with its brick walls and frame and cast iron, an important witness of the industrial architecture of the neighborhood instead of the Duchess of Brabant. In 1979, all the buildings were converted into a place for cultural, seat of famous Plan K, which presented many theater and dance performances, concerts, films and exhibitions. Renovated, The Refinery currently houses the Brussels branch of Charleroi Danses, Choreographic Centre of the Federation Wallonia-Brussels.
