Amandine and the beggar

1568 – a religious war with a backdrop of political rivalries decimated the Spanish Netherlands and ruined lands that had been the richest and most industrialised in Europe. Every social class was affected. The poor, the merchants, the bourgeois—even t, he nobles who had tried to protect the freedoms enjoyed by the people since the Dukes of Burgundy. Their leader, the Count of Egmont, would pay with his life. In the midst of this disaster, two people who should have been separated by their social status would survive these dramatic events through their rare and precious friendship: a beggar and a young aristocrat. Through them, we can relive our entire history in a moving play that tugs at the heartstrings
