British School of Brussels

Our goal is to challenge and inspire our students, to develop their potential, academically and personally, surrounded by a stimulating and caring community, helping them to become responsible and engaged citizens of the world.

BSB is an independent, fee-paying, not for profit international school which meets the needs of internationally mobile and expatriate families in Belgium as well as local families who want an international education. BSB is a very successful, inclusive, international learning community.

The British School of Brussels (BSB)

BSB has over 1,350 students from approximately 70 nations and is made up of two Schools: primary ages 1-11 and secondary, ages 11-18 years. English is the main language of tuition, with options available to follow a bilingual French / English programme established for children of 4 – 14 years old. All students follow a British based curriculum up to age 16- (I)GCSE. This is adapted to our European context and international cohort and is followed by the choice of three internationally recognised pre-university examination courses from age 16-18 -English A Levels, the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and English BTEC in Business, Sports and Hospitality. BTEC Applied Science will also be available from September 2016. The British School of Brussels is the only international school in Belgium to provide this choice.

Academic standards are high and excellent results are obtained. Students leave well-equipped for worldwide university admission. In 2015 our students obtained 100% pass rate for IB and BTEC, with a 99% pass rate for A Levels. In addition, almost 90% of student leavers obtained their first choice university. Superb results for a non-selective school.

Facilities are outstanding and by the autumn of 2016, BSB will be the only international school in Belgium to have its own swimming pool.

Numerous extra-curricular activities include sports, music, cookery, drama and much more.

The school’s Early Learning & Development Centre provides learning and development opportunities for children aged 1-3 years old.
