The Ensemble InterContemporain presents a concert devoted to serial music and its heritage.
Because of a medical condition, Pierre Boulez will be replaced by George Benjamin.
The programme includes an atypical work by Pierre Boulez, the ensemble's conductor and founder. Boulez has conducted a number of different works by the talented young composer Borowski in the past. Donatoni, for his part, was a great admirer of the dodecaphonic pioneer Bruno Maderna. The concert closes with a work by Arnold Schoenberg, with whom it all began a century ago.
