The Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and its conductor Antonio Pappano, who will be appearing on the 24th of November 2012 at the Centre for Fine Arts.
Antonio Pappano, former Music Director at De Munt/La Monnaie, pays a tribute to Schumann. At the head of his Orchestra dell' Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, he presents, along with the young piano prodigy Jan Lisiecki, that "something between a symphony, a concerto, and a grand sonata" - one of the most beautiful concertos ever written. The Second Symphony dates from the same highly creative period of Schumann's life. Two pearls of Romanticism.
