Agnès Guillaume
23 Apr 2019 - 28 Jul 2019
While at first sight enigmatic, Agnès Guillaume’s title for her exhibition at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium is in fact obvious. It refers to four projections (My Nights, My Fears, My Thoughts and My Roots), to which a fifth one is added, the video triptych You said Love is Eternity.

The duality of the title reflects Guillaume’s work, which invites contemplation and allows a multitude of hidden meanings to emerge. The titles of the works suggest that the artist delivers autobiographical elements, but is this the case?
Agnès Guillaume's videos are of cinematographic quality and refer, in their form, to historical painting. These two aspects are underlined in the exhibition by the large dimension of the images, which inhabit and transform the space. Graphic works are also presented, in order to offer a complete overview of the artist's work.
