As part of the "A future for culture" project supported by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and on the basis of an invitation from Emmanuel Lambion, this exhibition presents the work of Delphine Deguislage, in residence at the CGII since January 2021.
This exhibition is a kind of feminist pamphlet, a meeting between the works of women artists represented in the collections of the CGII and those of Delphine Deguislage. The artist stages an ambiguous space, where the domestic sphere meets the public space. The gestures of the house and the handmade, imperfect and familial, clash with the images of magazines, violent and newsworthy. Digital collages, textile creations, sculptures and engravings are mixed together to give an account, through the prism of gender, of the modes of representation of bodies, desire and social practices.
