Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFFF): postponed till 2021

The BIFFF, one of the biggest genre film festivals in the world is dying to sink its teeth into willing victims during the Easter holidays. FFFear not though, it’s a whole lot of fun! Two weeks of weird, creepy and fascinating films with a capital F...

The BIFFF (Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival) exists since March 1983 and will blow out 38 candles in 2020. You are of course invited to come and join us on our festival site in the Center for Fine Arts during the Easter holidays, from the 7th to the 19th of April. Each year the BIFFF welcomes about a hundred of personalities from the whole world to Brussels. Since 1983 more than 1600 personalities have already paid us a visit, including Victoria Abril, Nancy Allen, Richard Anconina, Stephane Audran, Luc Besson, James Coburn, Tom Conti, Wes Craven, David Cronenberg, Antoine De Caunes, Robert Englund, Richard Fleischer, Peter Fonda, Terry Gilliam, Annie Girardot, Bob Hoskins, Robert Hossein, Peter Jackson, Marie Laforêt, John Landis, Gérard Lanvin, Jude Law, Christopher Lee, Christopher Lloyd, Lisa Marie, Malcolm Mc Dowell, Patrick Mc Nee, Anne Parillaud, Alan Parker, Anthony Perkins, Donald Pleasance, Amanda Plummer, Oliver Reed, Terence Stamp, Ringo Starr, Rod Steiger, Jean-Claude Van Damme… and the list goes on! More than 220 journalists from 13 different countries got an accreditation in 2019. This resulted in about 1500 articles, 112 interviews and 552 movie reviews. The BIFFF has a unique reputation for efficiency, intensity and originality in both in Belgium and abroad. The BIFFF differs from other festivals because of its atmosphere and diversity. How come the BIFFF is such an extraordinary experience in its kind? Its “festive” nature that is exceptionally developed (and the festival is a real innovator on a national and international level in this field) with daily theater animations, exhibitions, its “off” program (The Ball of Vampires, the make-up competition …) and above all an exhilarating atmosphere thanks to the audience that is never short on comments. The all-connecting theme of the BIFFF is Fantasy in all its marvelous forms. Films of course, both feature-length and shorts, but also theater spectacles, sculpture, painting, make-up, comics and so on.
