D Festival 08
29 May 2018 - 09 Jun 2018
-
Théâtre Marni - 25 B Rue de Vergnies, 25 B 1050
At the heart of this edition of D Festival, the choreographers deliver dances that are mature and intense, offering both hope and an astute social critique. Incarnations of powerful and fragile figures.
Four solos featuring women dancers. Exploring the ruptures and rebirths that are at the heart of life. Strong women, vulnerable, warriors, on the fringes or under the spotlight. Carriers of their strength and conviction, these dancers transcend what is real, rebuke it, sublimate it, and offer their dance a quality of freedom that is both powerful and contagious.
These choreographies are Murmurô by Fré Werbrouck with Antia Diaz, ETNA by and with Thi-Maï
Nguyen, Ferocia by and with Lisa da Boit, directed by Céline Curvers, and
Despite Her by and with Shantala Pèpe.
A duo who dances to the notes of friendship, establishing a complicity with the public during one pleasurable hour. This is Happy Hour, with Mauro Paccagnella and Alessandro Bernadeschi. A group of dancers, who laugh while dancing, question the power of emotion, of the collective, of community. Ah Ha by Lisbeth Gruwez.
These performances will be presented on the stages of Marni, Senghor, and Théâtre Les Tanneurs.
The photographer Pauline Caplet will exhibit black and white portraits of senior citizens in the BAR du Marni.
