30 Quai des Charbonnages 1080
iMAL, which stands for interactive Media Art Laboratory, is the city’s centre for new media and digital art. It was founded in 1999 and occupies a floor in an industrial building close to the canal. Its aim is to support artistic and creative practices that use computers, networks, telecommunications, and media. iMAL is also part of a European network. Besides exhibitions, iMAL also organises lectures, performances, concerts, and festivals. In order to realize the CASTII project (Center of Arts, Science, Technologies, Innovations & Inclusion), iMAL closes its doors for renovations end of 2017. During this period the center will develop a program at external locations. The FabLab.iMAL however stays in its current location on the first floor, till the reopening of the new center.
