22 Jun 2022 - 01 Jul 2022
BRUSSELS PARK, PLACE DU GRAND SABLON, STREETS OF BRUSSELS AND GRAND PLACE, STARTING AT 20:15 - OMMEGANG PROCESSION
On Wednesday 29 June and Friday 1 July, relive the 1549 procession organised for Charles V and his son, the future Philip II!
1,400 paraders let you relive a historic moment on the streets of Brussels: musicians, singers, dancers, horsemen, uniformed guards and flag-carriers all contribute to recreating the Renaissance atmosphere. Charles V's carriage sets off from his former palace on place Royal at 20:15. The historical groups start from Brussels Park around 20:40 to join the members of the guilds of crossbowmen, archers, harquebusiers and fencers at the Sablon. The full historical procession, led by the carriage, will set out from Sablon at 20:50 and parade through the streets of Brussels to the Grand Place where the show will have been on since 20:45.
