Educated at the music universities of Porto (Portugal), Budapest (Hungary) Freiburg and Karlsruhe ( Germany), where he concluded his bachelor, master’s and soloist diplomas, the Portuguese pianist Nuno Cernadas is now pursuing a PhD in the Vrije Universiteit Brussel / Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel with a focus on the Piano Sonatas of Alexander Scriabin under the supervision of world‐renowned pianists Jan Michiels and Håkon Austbø. He is the prizewinner of several national Portuguese competition as well as the 1st prize of the International Piano Competition “Pro‐Piano”, in Bucharest, Romania. Important influences in his trajectory include pianist such as Fátima Travanca, Constantin Sandu, Gilead Mishory, Vitaly Margulis, Paul Badura‐Skoda and Dina Yoffe. Nuno has played with the Baden‐Baden Philharmoniker, Orquestra do Norte, Harmos Festival Orchestra under the conductors Tobias Drewelius, José Ferreira Lobo and Dirk Vermeulen. He has recorded for RTP (Portuguese Television and Radio) and for Euroclassical.
