Pierre-Laurent Aimard appears as both soloist and conductor with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. The Ligeti work is the most complex he ever wrote, one in which he constantly seeks to avoid both tonality and radical atonality. Beethoven's Second Piano Concerto, on the other hand, is a work of great clarity that still shows the influence of Mozart - in whose Double Piano Concerto the French pianist will be partnered by Tamara Stefanovich.

A journey through the German Romantic lied, with two exceptional guides in Goerne and Aimard. The German baritone returns to the Centre for Fine Arts for a recital that will take us to some of the genre's summits: Schubert, of course, whose lieder are an inexhaustible source of beauty, as well as Beethoven, who produced fewer works in this repertoire, and Brahms, who wrote some of his very finest works for the solo voice.

For years he was the official pianist of the Ensemble Intercontemporain, undisputed specialists in contemporary music. For some years now Pierre-Laurent Aimard has also explored other piano repertoires, including Mozart, Liszt, and Debussy. He pays a tribute to the last-named with a performance of his brilliant second book of Préludes; first, however, he will treat his listeners to music of our own time (Holliger) and to one of the high points of Romanticism (Schumann).
