Refugee Food Festival - Brussels 2019

From 18th to 26th June, local restaurants in Brussels open their kitchen to refugee chefs for unique experiences. Through four-handed menus or carte blanche, the guest chefs will design and prepare the best dishes of their home-country for dinner, lunch, brunch or snacks. Discover a range of gourmet and solidarity events that highlight the skills of refugee chefs and the specificities of their cuisine.

Founded by Food Sweet Food, the Refugee Food Festival is a citizens' initiative allowing restaurant owners to open their kitchens to refugee chefs.

The annual festival and other year-long activities developed by Food Sweet Food aim to accomplish 3 missions:

• CHANGE •

Perceptions around the welcoming of refugees and refugee status.

• ACCELERATE •

The integration of refugee chefs through training and a community of committed chefs and restaurant owners.

• RALLY •

Civil society, and get citizens together around the dinner table, a universal place of peace and equality.
