How can you create an urban living space? How can you change the world, not to mention your own neighbourhood? How can you bring about a revolution? The New World follows members of the New World Society, a citizens’ initiative in Tallinn, in Estonia, and lets us experience the euphoria, the passion, the compromises, frustration, wounds and disappointments of such a project. It’s the anatomy of a revolution.
This film won the European Grand Jury Prize at the Millennium festival a few years ago and the director wasn’t there to pick up his award. On this occasion, he will be here and we will present him with it. The evening is organised in partnership with the Estonian Cultural Centre, which will provide a drinks reception after the screening.
