From May 3, the Jewish Museum of Belgium hosts a brand new exhibition, "The Other, That's Me" organized by the Center of Culture
Judeo-Moroccan.
This exhibition highlights the millennial coexistence between Jewish and Muslim communities in Morocco. You will be unveiled ritual objects
and an abundant iconography that demonstrates the convergence of the two cultures and traditions, from the Dahan-Hirsch collection, the most
important about the history and culture of the Jews of Morocco.
Visitors discover the similar but not necessarily identical views that animate both communities as well as symbols, and their
shades that emanate from the essential life stages of birth, transition to adulthood, marriage and death. The differences
affirm in the education of girls and boys are not excluded.
Through this shared history, the will of the exhibition is to show how in the stages of human life, each community has had to
heart to emphasize through its rites and traditions, shared integration brands that have often inspired each other.
