The Silent Box in the heart of Brussels
20 May 2014 - 27 Jun 2014

Is the sound of car honking driving you nuts? Or maybe it’s the sound of the traffic that you can’t handle. And the pigeons cooing… we won’t go there. Even if it were only for a second, one thing is on your mind: a moment of silence in the heart of Brussels.
The Silent Box project
The Flemish NGO “Vorminfplus Citizenne » recently launched “BE SSST », a project that aims to let the people of Brussels enjoy more silent moments and calm spaces throughout their city. To do this, the association has started up different activities and has built a limited time installation: the Silent Box.
The Silent Box is a soundproof, transparent four walled structure that allows citizens to relax for 10 whole minutes completely blocked out from the commotion of the city.
