In partnership with Fondation Montresso, three African visual artists who won the IN-DISCIPLINE award will be in residency at Les Halles. Their work will be exhibited in la Grande Halle until the closing night on October 24th.
Nathanaël Vodouhè is a Beninese painter and sculptor. He learned his craft reading books from his peers. His work questions power games between people. He will be working on a 25-pieces installation: The Forest of our Addictions.
Pascal Konan lives in Abidjan. He won the UMEAO award at the Dakar Biennale in 2012. He is interested in waste management and pollution. He’ll make a giant mural with e-waste and electronic parts.
Joachim Silué is an Ivorian artist living in Emilia-Romagna. His work was exhibited at the 2017 Venice Biennale. He continues his series Mental Slavery, inspired by Lampedusa island. A dozen of his sculptures in raw and used materials will be featured at Les Halles.
