How best to get around in Brussels
Brussels is a busy city and moving from one place to another can sometimes be difficult.

But with the right knowledge and planning, you can easily move around the city. However, the absolute winner in terms of transport remains the bike. Here are some tips on how best to get around Brussels.

Easy on public transport

Public transport in Brussels is excellent and offers many different options. The metro is one of the most efficient ways to travel around the city, and most major attractions and business districts are located near metro stations. Trams and buses are also a good option if you want to go to a more remote location. To use STIB services, you can buy a MOBIB card that you can use for different types of public transport. But individual day and weekend tickets are also available for tourists. If you prefer to go for an even cheaper option, cycling around the city is an option, using an e-bike, for example, to get around faster.

Driving around by car

People are trying to make Brussels, like many Belgian cities, as car-free as possible. You may be directed around certain parts, and parking space is certainly not a given. If you do decide to drive by car, it can be handy to use parking apps like Parkmobile or 4411, which allow you to easily and quickly find and pay for a parking space.

Paying for Taxis and Uber

If you want to leave your own car at home to avoid parking problems, taxis are a good option. Just keep in mind that this is the most expensive option and that traffic in Brussels is frequently congested.

Fast and cheap cycling

Brussels is a bike-friendly city and has plenty of bike lanes and bike parking. Renting a bike is a great way to move around the city and see the many sights. Besides being the fastest, it's also the cheapest way to get around the city. Still find it a bit intimidating to cross such a big city? Then an e-bike is the solution for you. If you're looking for a comfortable city bike, a Batavus electric bike is a tip.

Easy walking

Walking is perhaps the most relaxing way to explore the city. Many important sights are within walking distance of each other, and you can enjoy the architecture and atmosphere of the city on foot. Moreover, walking is also good for your health and can improve your mood.
