John Hiatt is indeed that outstanding American author-interpreter with an extremely persuasive voice. Active for decades already, in the meantime he's become an institution, not in the least due to his stirring live performances. His most recent release is 'Master Of Disaster' (here via Sonic Rendezvous). Here again many fine Americana topics like 'His Telecaster', 'The Cumberland', 'My Thunderbird', next to striking commentary in love & loss, blues (& abortion.) Hiatt has a healthy relationship with greats like Ry Cooder, Nick Lowe or legendary producer Jim Dickinson and his sons from The North Mississippi Allstars. But this time you'll be able to enjoy him live in full glory solo!
