No New Year's Eve fireworks this year at the Mont des Arts

The sky might just stay black on the night of the New Year. The traditional Mont des Arts fireworks has just been canceled. De Brouckère will become (even more) the center of the NYE festivities with a special show that will soon be detailed.
The Brussels Administration has decided to concentrate its New Year's Eve activities on - and around - Place de Brouckère. For obvious security reasons, the Syndicat d'Initiative Bruxelles Promotion, which has been organising this event for the past 25 years, confirmed it would not be able to organise fireworks on de Brouckère.
No fireworks, but...
As an alternative, the City of Brussels asked Brussels Major Events to come up with other ideas. More info will be unveiled about this on Monday 1 December 2014.
The next question to answer is how to make sure 100.000 visitors can cram up on Place de Brouckère, as they usually did on Mont des Arts (while keeping a decent visibility).
