Val Thorens, Europe's highest resort (2,300m), entirely for skiing (cars prohibited), is particularly famous for the quality of its snow, abundant from November to May. Every kind of winter sports activity is practised there: Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoes, tobogganing (France's longest piste: 6km), and for allcomers, great skiers and beginners alike! Young, dynamic, sporting and close to its origins, the Deux Alpes resort is particularly "open", in terms both of skiers and non-skiers, couples and singles, young and old.
