WoluFestival @ Sainte-Alix

A big free popular party rather than a ball of the mayor

It is what is WoluFestival! By taking its new functions in 2008, the mayor of Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, Willem Draps, replaced annual Ball of the Mayor by a big free popular party accessible to all which was going to put, every year, a district of the municipality in the honor. In this effect, an Events committee was created, chaired by the Alderwoman of the Animations and Middle classes. For this 3rd WoluFestival, the mayor wished to bring to light a district expensive to his heart: attractive Wood and the square Sainte-Alix.

The artists of the municipality in the honor!

Little as in Montmartre, the spirit of the district of Sainte-Alix is similar to that of a village where the inhabitants like meeting in a certain relaxed rhythm of life. The time of this WoluFestival, the organizers thus decided to recreate the atmosphere of the square of the Hillock, with its Mill of the Pancake, its artists of street, its airs of accordion, its French cancan and all which can remind this attractive Parisian square at the top of its Mound ... Around the parish of Sainte-Alix, which celebrates its 75th birthday, everybody is invited to participate in the event. But they are especially the artists (Montmartre obliges!) of the municipality who will be put in the honor, and who will come to exercise the art in a festive atmosphere and a voucher-child. In this occasion, the members of the Events committee will walk in period costume.
