The Alliance Française is a worldwide network of more than 1,071 centres on all continents. The centre created in Brussels in 1945 has become a place of excellence for teaching French as a foreign language, offering a wide choice of courses the whole year round.
The Alliance Française
Our general French courses are adapted to your schedule and level, from total immersion to fun or themed workshops such as oenology, phonetics, DELF/DALF diploma preparation, etc. Based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), we offer a wide range of courses including customised, individual or group instruction.
The teaching staff includes 65 highly qualified professors. They follow a training plan in order to stay on top of the materials and new technology. Since 2004, our instructors, specialists in French for European affairs, trained some 5000 diplomats every year, with financial support of the International Organisation for the French-Speaking World (OIF).
The only one in Brussels
The Alliance Française is the only centre in Brussels to organise examination sessions for the DELF (diplôme d'études en langue française), the DALF (diplôme d'approfondissement en langue française) and the TCF (test de Connaissance du Français) - proof of your level for European institutions. These are official diplomas recognised by the French National Educational Authority.
The Alliance Française Bruxelles-Europe has a resource center which holds more than 6000 French language documents (books, comic books, CDs, DVDs, games, etc.) available for their students and teachers to use.
As the founding member of the EUNIC consortium ("European Union National Institutes for Culture") in 1999, the Alliance Française Bruxelles-Europe is engaged in common cultural projects. This position enables them to efficiently participate in calls for offers and proposals, to exchange good practices and to design multi-disciplinary projects at the European level.
