Alongside the four main « financial supermarkets » mentioned above, other banks have chosen to specialise.
In other words, they do not offer the whole range of services to all clients, but focus on specific sectors, providing their clients with services that are better adapted and above all at better rates. For example, the bank J. Van Breda & C° is known as the bank for SMEs and self-employed professionals. Another good address is Deutsche Bank who willingly does all it can for its customers. Other banks have decided to focus on savings. This is the case of ABN-Amro, Cortal Consors, DHB Bank, Finansbank Rabobank.be and Robeco bank who usually offer very interesting returns on savings accounts, which are very popular in Belgium. Without taking any risks, this means you can keep your money close at hand whilst benefiting from interesting fiscal advantages, for the first ¤ 1.520 of interest are exonerated from paying savings tax
