The 2018 Flower Carpet
From 16 to 19 August, the Carpet of Flowers will settle on the Grand-Place of Brussels with more than 500,000 flowers.
A little history
Since its creation in August 1971, every two years around August 15th, the Grand-Place reveals its splendid carpet of flowers. A masterpiece that brings together and amazes Brussels residents and tourists alike! Each edition, a particular theme. At the last edition, in 2016, to celebrate the 150 years of friendship between Belgium and Japan, the Carpet of Flowers was covered with an Asian design and put Japan in the spotlight.
The carpet of flowers in 2018
From August 16 to 19, more than 1800 square meters of begonias, dahlias, grass and tree bark will be exhibited on the Grand Place. From the balcony of the Hôtel de Ville, you will have a magnificent panoramic view of this floral tapestry.
